Isler, William was a sportsman, a hunter of deer, and he sometimes tanned hides. His wife liked horseback riding. Be raised cotton and at the time of his death 2/ 1817, bad seven slaves. One man, Peter, sold for $900.00, and a boy named Virge, for $700.00. Two women slaves brought premium prices of $600.00 and $500.00. William Isler taught his children to read and play the fiddle.
