NICHOLS, Isaac, W1986, New York, Brooklyn, appl. of widow, Elizabeth Nichols, age 67, on 5/6/1853. She married Isaac Nichols in N. Y. City 11/10/1807, maiden name, Elizabeth Van Dusen. Obituary notice "In this city on Monday last (11/23/1835), Isaac Nichols, age 87, died (an officer of the Rev.); b. in Newark, N. J., etc.oo Catharine Nichols of Brooklyn, N. Y., age 57 states she is dau. of Isaac Nichols and remembers death of her mother on 11/10/1807, when Elizabeth became her stepmother.
NIX, John, S31683, Georgia, Jackson Co., application dtd 1/1/1827, age 75, was Pvt. for 18 mos. Enl. 1776 S. C. ~ Capt. David Hopkins, at Eutaw Springs, taken prisoner to Ft. McIntosh by Tories~ later paroled. Was Pvt., Capt. Richard Winn's Co.; Third S. C. Regt. Is farmer, has wife age 64. (Jackson Co., Ga. Inferior Court Minutes 1822-1831, p. 67-69).
NORRIS, William, S29694, Georgia, Harris Co., appl. dtd 1/30/1835, was b. 5/31/1757 Johnston Co., N. C. Enl. 5/1777, served until 1778 as Pvt., Capt. Goodman's Co., Col. Armstrong in Malmady's N. C. Reg. In 1781, 3 mos., Capt. Kingsten, Col. Robert Smith, as 1st Lt. Enl. 8/10/1782 as Pvt., Capt. John Graham. In battles of Brier Creek, Stono and Camden. Soldier married 1789 Wilkes Co., Ga., Nancy Watkins, who was age 73 in 1846 when she applied for pension from Harris Co., Ga., her husband having d. 4/5/1844.
NYE, David, S18532, Vermont, Berlin, appl. dtd 9/9/1832, was b. 9/29/1760 in Glastonbury, Conn. served as fifer at Lexington Alarm 4/1775. As musician, 6 mos., 1776, Capt. Samuel Wells' Co.; as musician 9/1777, 6 wks.; musician 1 mo., 1778; as Sgt., 2 mos., 9/1778 in Capt. Henry Amiden's Co.; as Sgt., 2 mos. .1779 Capt. Benoni Smith; a Pvt. short time in 1781; musician, 2 mos., 1780. In 1780 he removed to Berlin, Vermont.

NYE, Nathan, 521403, was b. Falmouth, Mass. 2/28/1744. Enl. as Pvt., Capt. joseph Palmer's Co., Col. John Cushing's Regt., Col. Freeman's Regt. Served 6 days on an alarm at Dartmouth and Falmouth 9/1778. Enl. 6/10/1783, 5 mos. Died Falmuth 1/26/1812.
NYE, Seth, S7276, was b. Falmouth, Mass. 8/7/1756. Enl. as Pvt., Capt. Ward Swift's Co. of Sandwick; went on a secret expedition to R. I. 10/1777. Served in 14th Regt., Albany Co., N. Y. Militia. Soldier d. Venice, near Auburn, N. Y. 1/18/1840.
