HOLLAND, Henry, S31759, Georgia, Tattnall Co., application dtd 5/6/1833, was b. 3/1/1757 Bertie Co., N. C., enl. Duplin Co., N. C. 1779, 6 mos., as Pvt., Capt. King, Col. Kenan's N. C. Regt.; in battle of Stono. Enl. 1781, 3 mos., Capt. Toole, Col. Brown's Regt.; enl. 1781, 6 mos., Capt. Coleman, Col. Murphy's Regt., in battle of Eutaw Springs. After war, he moved to Warren Co., Ga. where he lived 4 yrs, then Washington Co., Ga. 8 yrs., then to. Tattnall Co., Ga. where he d. 6/26/1853. PENSION (images)
HOLLAND, Hugh. S38038, Georgia, Franklin Co., application dtd 4/14/1820, aged 94, enl. 1775 N. C., Capt. White, Col. O. Roberts, S. C. Line, disch. Charleston, S. C. 10/2/1826. States he is old, infirm and can't remember the time he enlisted, but thinks it was before the battle of Sullivan's Island. PENSION (images)
HOWARD, Thomas, W4237, Georgia, Lincoln Co., on 1818 pension list. Was b. Ire., lived Pa. during war, enl. 1777 10th Pa. Regt., Col. Hubley, George Wortz' Co., taken prisoner 1/1780 Newark, N. J., served 10 mos. in prison when he escaped and rejoined the militia. Was at Brandywine, Germantown and Monmouth, serving in all 2 yrs., 9 mos. His wld., Rhoda, lived Troup Co., Ga. in 1853 and stated her husband d. Lincoln Co., Ga. 10/22/1830 and she married him 3/17/1803 in Lincoln Co., Ga.
HOWE, David, Sr., S13422, Kentucky, Fleming Co., appl. dtd 12/3/1832, aged 85, was b. 3/8/1747 Cumberland Co., Pa. and moved to York Co., S. C. with his father in 1772. His birth was taken from his father's Bible. Enl. York Co. 10/1778 to 3/1779, Co. of Dragoons, Capt. Hawthorn, Col. Sumter's Regt., was at Brier Creek battle; enl. 3/1779 to 11/1781, militia, Col. Sumter, was in battle June or July 1779 Catawba River, Bigger's Ferry; at Rocky Mt. 7/30/1780; at Hanging Rock 8/6/1780; at Fishing Cr. 8/18/1780; King's Mt. 10/7/1780. He lived York Co., S. C. from 11/1781 til fall 1792 when he moved to Ky., where he has lived 36 yrs. in Co. of Fleming.
