Grant Park

An 1890 scene in Grant Park. The park was named for L. P. Grant, who deeded the original 100 acres to Atlanta for a park in 1883. The laying out of the grounds was performed by Sidney Roots, Park Commissioner. In 1890 the park extended the grounds, to total 131.5 acres.
