This was old Alabama Street in 1895, which lies dormant beneath the present-day Alabama Street. Old Alabama became the heart of the revived "Underground Atlanta". When the viaducts over these streets were completed in 1929, this part of Atlanta went undergounrd. The view is west toward Whitehall Street, east of Pryor. Atlanta's policemen maintained the order amid the mule-drawn wagons.
