Chester, N. L. (Dr.) died in Marietta. He was born in Gorton, Connecticut. He came to Georgia when a youth and entered Franklin College, where he graduated. He taught school in Lexington, Georgia and at the same time studied medicine. He afterwards removed to Gainesville and practiced his profession. About the year 1835, he came to Marietta, where he has since lived, enjoying the confidences and esteem of all who know him. For more than 40 years he has been a ruling elder in te Presbyterian church...leaving a wife and three children. The Marietta Journal 12/1/1876.

Clopton, who was a student in the second grade of Fraser Street School, was suddenly attacked with meningetis Saturday morning....While the older child was in the throes of the disease Sunday morning, Ruby's sister, little Lucile, 6 years of age, was seized with the same disease.
