Barnard, Timpoochee, son of Timothy Barnard, was a Major in the US Army, Interpreter, hero of the Battle of Challibee in the War of 1812, and signed tries. Timothy Barnard was a white man who settled in Macon County, marrying into the Euchee tribe. He was the grandson of Sir John Barnard, Baronet, Lord Mayor of London. He settled his home on the right banks of the Thronateeska River, which is in Macon County, 1-1/2 miles below where Opilthlucco (Buck) Creek joins the Flint River. He built his home on the west side of the Flint River on the present site of the Town of Oglethorpe. Timothy died July 1820, leaving a large estate and lands in England. Big Warrior, Creek who signed the first contract dated November 1822 between the Methodist Church (by William Capers of the S. C. conference), between the creeks, Big Warrior, Tusk Mugee Hopoi and George Loyette. These latter made their mark. Ref: The Constitution, published Atlanta 3-2-1885

Billy Buster, Chief, Seminole. His wife was getting old and ugly and cross, so he looked for a more amiable and pleasing compaion. He bought a comely girl (Seminoles sold their daughters as wives) named Papoosie, to raise for a wife. But the intended bride got sck and died at the age of fifteen.
