Early Deaths in Georgia as Evidenced from Deeds and Other Miscellaneous Records

Evidence of deaths appears in various Georgia documents other than probate records. Most of these references are from County Deeds and Minutes of the Inferior Court. This collection comes from an extensive Note Record Book kept by genealogist, Jeannette Holland Austin. Since so many county records have been lost or were burned, this information helps to supplement otherwise unknown persons and probable dates of death. Many of these notations were probably Revolutionary War Soldiers by virtue of the fact that they received Georgia Land Grants for 287-1/2 acres, 500 acres, etc.
