Mecklenburg County Probate Records

Virginia Map

Mecklenburg County was established in 1765 from Lunenburg County. There are five incorporated towns within the county: Boydton (county seat), Chase City, Clarksville, La Crosse, and South Hill. The county has a rich tradition of agriculture, primarily in tobacco. The town of Clarksville is known as the oldest continuous flue-cured tobacco market in the world.
