Richard Tyree left New Kent County in 1800; removed to Campbell County. His three half brothers (Richmond, Pleasant and Samuel) came with him. In 1806 Richard Tyree married Mildred Y. Douglass. In 1808 he purchased a lot in Lynchburg, No. 104, 6th Alley and 3rd Street where he build a home. He was the inspector of tobacco at the Liberty Warehouse from 1811 to 1813. Issue:
- John Henley Tyree, born 1806, married Ann Phoebe. They resided near Lynchburg at a home called "Tyreeanna."
- Achilles D. Tyree married Martha Tisdale McKinney.
- Elizabeth D. Tyree married Moses Hurt.
- Sallie Johnson Tyree married Andrew C. Elliott.
- Judith Ellen Tyree married Charles Simpson.
- Anna Lynch married Moses Lacy.
- Samuel Lynch married Marion Fontaine Cabell.
- Mildred D. Lynch married George G. Williams.
