William Todd of King and Queen County
William Todd was granted 500 acres of land on the Pianketanke Swamp in Stratton Major Parish (formerly New Kent County) in 1693. The land is now located in King and Queen County.
Todd apparently died in 1695 because that was when Margaret and Frances Todd, orphans of William Todd, deceased, were granted 500 acres (on 25 October 1695), being the same tract as above, adjoining lands of David Brame. Years later, several petitions were filed in the court from the Todds to have the entail removed from the lands which had been held by the early Todds.
Thomas Todd had two tracts of land in King and Queen County, a large tract on the Mattapony River and 1,000 acres on Dragon Swamp in St. Stephen's Parish. The second tract descended from Thomas Todd to Richard Todd, then to William Todd, Gent., the grandson and heir of William Todd the elder and Martha Vicaris, his wife.
