Lockett of Virginia & Warren County, Georgia


Thomas Lockett died in Henrico County, Virginia on 27 March 1686. He married Margaret Osborne in 1667. She was born 3 July 1708 in Henrico County, a daughter of Thomas Osborne. Known issue: Thomas, Elizabeth, Susan, Benjamin, James and Mary.

Thomas Lockett, Jr. was a resident of Goochland County, Virginia. They had three known sons: Thomas, Joel and Gideon.

Thomas Lockett (son of the above Thomas) died ca 1774/1775 in Goochland County. He was married to Elizabeth Judith Townes. They had a son, David Lockett (ca1730-ca 1796) who came to Georgia.

David Lockett, Revolutionary War Soldier, received bounty lands in Warren County, Georgia for his service. He was married to Sally Luck Winfrey. His LWT dated 7 January 1796, probated 12 March 1796 in Warren County directed that his estate be kept together for the use of his wife the children under age. He had a tobacco crop in progress and directed that when the crop was sold, that the money was to be "put at interest." Issue:
