PAUL LEATHERER (LEDERER, LEATHERS)
The LWT of PAUL LEATHERER is dated 1785, naming wife, Margaret
(Clour) and children, as follows:
- MICHAEL LEATHERER b. Virginia, removed to Pendleton
District, South Carolina after the Revolution; was listed for recruiting in the Revolution (no record). He d. 1805. Son:
Nimrod Leathers b. 1777 Virginia.
- NICHOLAS LEATHERER b. Virginia, listed for recruiting in the Revolution (no record). After the war he removed to Kentucky where he d. in 1835.
- JOHN LEATHERER b. Virginia, was named as executor of the LWT of his father. Resided in Culpeper County Virginia in 1790.
- PAUL LEATHERER b. Culpepper Co., Va., listed for recruiting in the Revolution,
- JOSHUA LEATHERER b. Culpepper Co., Va. m. 12/31/1797
Elizabeth Ferguson. He was executor of the LWT of his father in 1785.
- SUSANNAH LEATHERER b. in Virginia.
- MARGARET LEATHERER b. in Virginia.
- MARY LEATHERER b. in Virginia m. 1785 John Howell.
- SAMUEL LEATHERER b. in Virginia 1740/1750, removed to
Pendleton District, S. C. before 1816. He had at least four sons and was reportedly living in Hall Co., Ga. by 1820 with sons, Joel Daniel and James. Samuel was a Revolutionary War Soldier, drawing in the 1827 lottery (Lee Co., Ga.) By 1830 he was living with soon, Abram, in Carroll Co, Died that same year. Issue:
- James Leatherer m. 1827 in Hall Co., Elizabeth Fain, d. 1825

- Joel D. Leatherer b. 1795 m. 1824 in Hall Co., Ga., Mary
Muckletath. He owned land in Carroll Co., Ga., which he sold in children. removing to Texas in 1836 with his wife and five children.
- Abram Leatherer b. 1770/1784 in S. C., lived Carroll Co., Ga.
by 1830 and Cobb Co., Ga. in 1840 Had at least two sons.
- Samuel Leatherer, Jr. b. 1780/1790 S. C., removed to Carroll
Co.,Ga. between 1824 and 1830. Removed to Paulding Co., Gal in 1840. Had at least six sons. His mother was living in his 1840 household.
Children of Samuel Leatherer, Jr.:
- Abraham Garrison Leathers b. 1824 Pendleton District,
S. C.
Note: There may be two other sons of Samuel, ie., Peter and John,brothers, who lived in Wilkinson Co., Ga.
