Koger of Augusta and Henry Counties
Jacob, Nicholas, Joseph and Peter Koger left the Palitinate on the Rhine and settled first in Pennsylvania before
locating in Augusta County, Virginia. This was a typical migratory path through Pennsylvania to the mountains of Virginia.
Jacob Koger removed from Augusta County to Henry County in 1762, to a tract of land about twenty miles west of
Martinsville. Nearby was a fort which protected settlers from Indian raids. He left his son, Henry Koger, land lying
on both sides of Stone Creek in 1782. Jacob died in 1783.
Henry Koger was born 1742, married twice. His second wife was Mary King. Issue:
