William Hudson built the old Hudson Inn, located between South Boston and Clover, which he bequeathed to his son, Julius Caesar Hudson. William was buried on Dr. Carden's place near Clover."I, William Hudson, being of sound and disposing mind, to beqeath to my wife, Mary Hudson, and daughters Nancy Robins, Judith Billington, William Thornton Hudson, Robert Hudfson, John B. Hudson; to my brother, Robert Hudson, five hundred acres in Halifax County, and ten slaves." Note: " My brother Robert Hudson from Amelia County"Julius Caesar Hudson was married on 25 February 1813 to Miss M. Womack. He resided in Old Boston for many years before removing to Dry Branch, near Clover. Issue:Henry Calvin Hudson was born near Scottsburg; removed to Scottsburg when thirty years of age, opened a store, and acquired the surrounding lands.
