Captain John Guttreidge patented 350 acres on 23 Marh 1654 in Isle of Wight County. He was captain of the local militia. His widow married after his death, Captain Robert Kae and the third time, George Riddick. Issue:
- John Goodrich, Burgess in 1695, died before the second session of the Assembly in 1696. In his last will and testament he mentioned his step-brother, Robert Kae. Issue:
- George Goodrich, died in 1721 leaving several children. His daughter, Elizabeth, married Joseph John Clinch of Surry County.
- John Goodrich, died 1746. Issue:
- John Goodrich, died 1722, married Margaret, the daughter of Joseph and Agatha Bridger. Issue:
- John Goodrich, Jr. was a merchant and shipowner in Norfolk, trading as John Goodrich and Son. Unfortunately, he was a Loyalists and his property was confiscated.
"In this vault under the family seat opposite this monument are deposited the remains of John Goodrich, Esq., a native of Virginia in North America, who departed this life in November 1785, aged 63 years, and of Margaret, his wife, who died the 12th of April, 1860, aged 78 years. Also of two of their sons, James Goodrich, who died the 26th of May 1787, aged 23 years, and Samuel Goodrich, who died 26th October 1807, aged 41 years. Also James Goodrich, son of Samuel Goodrich, who died 8th of November 1836, aged 47 years, and Sarah Goodrich, his wife, who died 20th of April 1854, aged 65 years."
