Giles of Isle of Wight County


John Giles was elected a Burgess to Isle of Wight County in 1696. In 1700 and 1702, Thomas Giles was a Burgess; married Mrs. Eleanor Smedley, the relict of William Smelley who died in 1692. John Giles was married to Philarite, the daughter of Thomas Woodward, a Loyalist and first surveyor of North Carolina. John Giles died in 1703 and mentioned his under age children (not naming them) in his last will and testament.

Captain Hugh Giles died in 1751. Katherine, the relict of Captain Hugh Giles married Thomas Lile. Issue:
