George Family of England and Virginia
John George was born 1551 in Wroxall, Somerset, England and died 5 Feb 1599 at St. Margaret's Parish, Westminster, London, England. He was listed as a son of John George and his wife, Margaret Marshall. John was married first to Elizabeth Symson 15 April 1574 and second to Jone Joynner on 9 April 1581, both at St. Margarets. The children recorded in the register were that of the second wife, as follows:
- Anne George, chr. 15 Jan 1584 St. Margarets.
- Jone George, chr. 14 Mar 1585 St. Margarets.
- Richard George, chr. 27 Feb 1586 St. Margarets.

- Rebecca George, chr. 24 Oct 1591 St. Margarets, married Gabriel Holland 14 Aug 1624 and came with him to Virginia. Gabriel was married first to Mary Wickes who probably died in the massacre of 1623. A deed in James City County, Virginia reflects that he married the widow Mary Jonas and took possessioon of her property. She must have also died, because Gabriel Holland returned to London a year later and married his third wife.

- John George, chr. 17 Nov 1594 St. Margarets, died 5 Dec 1594, St. Margarets.
