John Fleming, a son of Sir Thomas Fleming of Wigton, is believed to have married Miss Tarleton before coming to Virginia. John Fleming was first known in Virginia about 1658 when he patented land on the south of the York River behind land of Mr. Hughes. John Fleming died in St. Peter's Parish on 27 Aug 1688. Issue:
- Charles Fleming, granted 1000 acres of land on 23 Oct 1690 adjacent to the land of Andrew Davis located on a branch of the Mattadequin Creek. Charles Fleming acquired a large estate in the counties of Goochland, Henrico, Hanover and New Kent. In 1714 he sold land in Henrico County to his cousins, John and Tarleton Woodson. Charles Fleming was married to Susannah Tarleton, a daughter of Stephen Tarleton. The estate of Charles Fleming was settled by his son and executor, John Fleming, between 1717 and 1720 in New Kent County. Issue:
- Elizabeth Fleming, married on 10 Oct 1703 Samuel Jordan.
- Urcilla Fleming, married her cousin Tarleton Woodson on 3 April 1710.
- Susannah Fleming, married John Bates Jr. on 5 Aug 1713.
- Judith Fleming, married Colonel Thomas Randolph on 1 October 1712 and after he died, she was married to Mr. Davis.
