Dodson of Dinwiddie County, Virginia and Georgia


Daniel Dodson, Revolutionary War Soldier, signed a Petition dated 14 November 1789 (C. N. page 62, Vol. 26) The William and Mary Quarterly (1), page 197 lists of tithes and taxable property (1782) Daniel Dodson of Dinwiddie County, Virginia; in 1785 he paid taxes in Pittsylvania County, 9 family members.) He had three known sons, Joshua (born 1754, a Revolutionary War Soldier), William (Revolutionary War Soldier) and Daniel who came to Georgia.

Daniel Dodson was born 29 April 1769, and died 25 February 1848, buried in the Elam Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Forest Park, Georgia (Clayton County). He married Sarah Peters (1774-30 July 1863) in June of 1792 in Pendleton District, South Carolina. Sarah is also buried in the same churchyard. Issue:
