Hodges Council of Devonshire, England, died in Isle of Wight County, Virginia in 1699. He was married to Lucy, a daughter of John Hardy and his wife, Olive Council; a Justice of the County Court, about 1675. The family was established in Virginia during the early part of the 16th century, so Hodges Council was probably a son of John Council whose second wife was Mrs. Jeffries, a relict of Richard Jeffries in 1666. Issue:
- Hardy Council was born 1607 and died 1678, the date of his Last Will and Testament.
- Christiana Council (died 1737) married Edward Bryan.
- Hodges Council, died 1726.
