Blandford of New Jersey, Virginia and Georgia
Clark Blandford was born 1754 in New Jersey. He was a Revolutionary War Soldier, enlisting in 1775 in the Company of Captain John Montgomery and Regiment of Colonel Benedict Arnold. He was in the Quebec expedition for 12 months before being captured; later paroled and returned to New Jersey where he entered the New Jersey Militia and served until the end of the war, first under Colonel John Nelson and Lit. Colonel Scudder at the taking of Bennetts Island. He was in the battles of Short Hills, Trenton, Springfield, Mud Island and Monmouth, and served as Sgt. and Sgt/Maj. of Nelson's Regiment He was wounded in action three times during the war. Following the war, he removed to Virginia from New Jersey, thence to Georgia, thence to Florida, later returning to Georgia. He was married in Warren County, Georgia to Mary Hutchinson. Clark Blandford, Jr., born 13 October 1790 in Warren County, Georgia, died 1840-1850 in Georgia. He married Nancy Hardin, January 1821, in Warren County. He may have married again, to Frances (unless Frances is the same person as Nancy Hardin). The LWT of Frances Blandford, dated 3 July 1850, probated 1 March 1852, in Jones County, named " the children of my deceased husband, Clark, Jr." To the children of my deceased husband: Clark, Jr. Exr: Charles Hutchings.
