Anthony of Virginia and Wilkes County, Georgia
Joseph Anthony, the son of Joseph Anthony and his wife, Susannah (Potter) Anthony of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, was born 15 February 1713 in Portsmouth, Newport County, Rhode Island and died 23 November 1785 in Wilkes County, Georgia. He married on 27 April 1741 in Louise County, Virginia, Elizabeth Clark (born 15 February 1720 in Hanover County, Virginia, died 23 November 1785 in Wilkes County, Georgia. She was a daughter of Christopher Clark and his wife, Penelope (Johnston) Clark. In 1787, Christopher Anthony, still in Campbell County, Virginia, the eldest son of heir of Joseph Anthony, deceased, sold to John Lynch 150 acres formerly owned by Joseph Anthony on both sides of Fishing Creek, on the south side of the Fluvanna River, beginning at Daniel and William Cnalders line, Christopher Anthony being anxious to complete the contract of his father.

- Elizabeth Anthony, born 10 March 1746 in Bedford County, Virginia, died 1803 in Wilkes County, Georgia. She married (1) William Candler (2) Cornelius Dysart.
- James Anthony was born 18 December 1747 in Bedford County, Virginia and died 1827 in Jasper County, Georgia. He was married in 1772 to Anne (Nancy) Tate, born 1754 in Bedford County, Virginia, died 1834 in Wilkes County, Georgia, a daughter of Henry Tate and his wife, Sarah (Henry) Tate. Issue: James, Charles, Edmund, Polly, Micajah, Bolling, Joseph, Elizabeth, Sarah Tate Anthony, James, Milton, Nancy Tate Anthony and Henry Anthony.

- Joseph Anthony was born 1775 in Bedford County, Virginia. His LWT dated 8 September 1808, probated 3 September 1810, in Wilkes County, Georgia; named his wife, Betsy, and left her for life half of the land, plantation, mills and fishery, several slaves and furniture. To the heirs of Mary Stokes, personalty, having given her proportionate part in her life time. Sons: Anselm, Micajah and Joseph C. to share in the stock of Anthony & Co., the land in Lincoln County on the Savannah River known as Clarke Fishery, now in the name of Mark Anthony, and the land on Fishing Creek in Wilkes County obtained of the heirs of Micajah Anthony, deceased "for which I am contending" and several slaves each. Son, Joseph C., not 21, a special bequest of stock in William Patterson & Co. To the children of Ann Early, 811 acres on the north fork of Broad River, slaves, furniture, etc. Executors: Mark, Anselm and Micajah Anthony.

- Joseph C. Anthony. His LWT dated 20 November 1810, probated 5 November 1811. Wife, Betty, left a slave and bed and the house we live in with one acre of ground, to be inherited by my son, William Augustine Anthony. If he should die before majority to go to Micajah and Anselm Anthony and the children of Nancy Eastey. Executors: Wife, Betty and brother, Mark Anthony.[1] Issue: William Augustine Anthony.

- Judith Anthony, born 23 October 1771 in Bedford County, Virginia. She married (1) Mr. Green (2) Mr. Ware.
