d. 1843 Jones Co., Ga. m. Frances; James; Thomas; Mrs. Moses
Sinquefield. Father, John Lamar, b. 4/22/1713 m. Rachel. He sold
his inherited lands in Maryland in 1755 and removed to S. C. with his
bros. where he recd a grant of 300 acres on Beaver Dam Creek in
1751. In 1759 John Lamar removed to Ga. where he recd a land
grant adj. that of his bro., Alexander. Issue: Jeremiah, John,
Jr., Thomas and Basil. John Lamar was the son of Thomas Lamar who
m. Martina Blanford of Prince George Co., Maryland (also m. 1/21/1714
Mary Tyler in Prince George Co., Maryland) and had: Robert, Thomas,
Samuel, John, James, Alexander, Mary and Elizabeth.

War Soldier, fought under Washington, was at Valley Forge in
1777. He had 22 children, was twice married, was 6' 3" tall, and
age 99, 6 mos. when he died 5/5/1802 in Edgefield Dist., S. C. lIe
m. in Amherst Co., Va. 12/21/1785 Lucy, b. 1766, d. Jackson Co.,
Ga. 6/14/1846, per his pension #W8025. At the time of his death,
