Jesse of Essex County, Virginia and Woodford County, Kentucky



John B. Jesse, the son of John and Catharine Jesse, was born 6/10/1783 in Essex County, Virginia. He died 9/26/1845 at his home in Greenfeld in Woodford County and was buried in the family cemetery. He was first married in Mathews County, Virginia on 12/28/1804 to Polly Dixon, a native of King and Queen County, Virginia, born 2/13/1787, died 11/14/1813 in the City of Richmond, Virginia and was buried in the St. Pauls Church Cemetery. John married secondly in Richmond, Virginia on 7/21/1814 to Hannah Ames, a native of Norwich, New London County, Kentucky, born 12/14/1796 who died during childbirth on 12/2/1828, buried in the family cemetery at Greenfield in Woodford County, Kentucky. He was married thirdly on 3/12/1827 to Martha Ann Sullivan, born 9/2/1807; she died of consumption at the home of her father, James Sullivan, on 4/22/1830. He was married fourth on 4/30/1832 to Louisa Goodloe, born 8/25/1808 in Caroline County, Virginia, died 1878 in Woodford County, Kentucky, a daughter of Vivian Goodloe and his wife, Dorothy Thompkins Goodloe.[1]
