Green of Shenandoah County, Virginia and Kentucky

Willis Green, son of Duff Green and Ann (Willis) Green and grandson of Robert Green, immigrant to Culpeper County, Virginia and Elizabeth Duff, of "Waveland" in Boyle County,Kentucky, was born in Shenandoah County. He went to Kentucky as a surveyor before the end of the Revolutionary War; represented Jefferson County (now Kentucky) in the Virginia House of Delegates from 1781 to 1782 and Lincoln County in the Kentucky Convention of 1788. He was married to Sarah Reed and by her had twelve children. Issue:

  1. Dr. Willis Duff Green.
  2. Judge William H. Green.
• John Green, born 1787, was trustee of Centre College, Kentucky; representative of Lincoln County in the Kentucky House of Representatives and Kentucky circuit judge. He married (1) Sarah Frye (2) Mary Keith Marshall.
