John P. Cottrell was born 1-15-1827, died 9-12-1862 in Owensboro. His wife was Laura A. Birkhead, born 3-8-1830, died 6-4-1890, buried in the Elmwood Cemetery, Owensboro.

James Harrison Cottrell was born 1846 in Kentucky and died 1923 in Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky. He was married to Mary Dawson, born 1848, died 1921 in Owensboro. In 1880 they were residents of Masonville.[1] Issue:

• Ernest Cottrell, born 1877 in Masonville, Kentucky.
