Collings of Spencer County, Kentucky
The first of the family known to have settled on Plum Creek in Spencer County was Benjamin Collings, born 2/8/1769, died 8/10/1830, buried in the cemetery on Plum Creek near Waterford, Kentucky. He was married in Nelson County, Kentucky on 6/10/1788 to Sarah McGrew, born 5/30/1770, died 6/25/1835 near Wilsonville in Spencer County. Issue:[1]
- Joseph M. Collings, born 3/3/1789 in Spencer County, Kentucky, died ca 1854.
- Rachel Collings, born 7/2/1790 in Spencer County, died 4/5/1818, was killed by a negro girl.
- Elisha Collings, born 6/26/1791 in Spencer County, died 12/2/1844, buried in Plum Creek Cemetery.
- Casander Collings, born 11/25/1794 in Spencer County, died 8/19/1826.
- Isaac Collings, born 10/9/1796 in Spencer County, died 9/27/1838.
- Archibald Collings, born 3/20/1799 in Spencer County, died 3/31/1868 in Vigo, Indiana.
- Reuben Collings, born 1/4/1801 in Spencer County, died 1/1/1842 in Spencer County, buried in the McGee Cemetery on Goose Creek. He was married first to Sarah Crist on 7/19/1824, a daughter of Nicholas Crist and his wife, Nancy (Biggs) Crist. He married secondly Mary Johnson on 9/18/1832. Mary was born 8/22/1798.

- Sarah A. Collings, born 1/13/1806 in Spencer County.
- Felix Ben Collings, physician, farm laborer in 1880,[2] born 6/27/1809 in Spencer County, died 9/30/1883 in Spencer County, buried in the Elk Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Taylorsville. Wife, Sarah Ann Jennings, born 1828.
- Samuel W. Collins, physician, born 12/7/1812 in Spencer County, died 3/4/1889 in Spencer County.[3]
