First located in Cleveland, Ohio, where he remained until 1866, when he came to Atlanta. He was the father of 7 children, six of whom live in Atlanta. They are Messrs. Morris, Daniel, Emanuel and Herman Rich, and Mrs. Aaron Huss, Mrs. Hirschburg, and Mr. William Rich, the last a resident of Nashville. Interred Oakland Cemetery. TC 1-7-1885.

Ross, Albert B., Major, gallant soldier, died Macon. Before dying, he said "I am the oldest native male citizen of Macon. I was born here on the 22nd day of December 1825, the year that Macon was made a town, and was the first male child born within its limits." He was for 30 years clerk of the Superior Court of Bibb County. His father, Henry G. Ross. He joined the Floyd Rifles of Macon, and in 1846 left the Rifles and enlisted in the Macon Guards, a company organized by Captain Isaac Holmes, for one year's service against Mexico. The company was one of ten that formed the Georgia Regiment of Volunteers by the election of Captain Henry R. jackson of Savannnah, as Colonel. On January 7, 1857, Henry G. Ross died, and was the oldest resident of the county, having settled at Fort Hawkins, then the frontier of Georgia, in 1818. In 1861, when the war between the states broke out, Albert B. Ross united with an old comrade in the Macon Guards in the Mexican War. John B. Cumming organized a company of 110 men by the election of Cumming as Captain and Ross first lieutenant. The company left for Richmond, Virginia on May 28, 1861 and formed a portion of a battalion at Richmond which was sent to Manassas just as the first great battle of the war had closed. The battallion was soon merged into the famous 29th Georgia Regiment, William Duncan Smith, Colonel commanding. Ross was elected Captain of the Sparks Guards, Co. A in the regiment when Cumming was promoted Lt. Colonel. This regiment was engaged in many battles during the war, Antietam, Sharpsburg, Gettysburg. The Constitution, Atlanta 8/9/1886 ALSO CSA
