Louisa married 2nd, James M. Pittman 1/28/1860 Hogansville, Troup Co., Georgia. She d. 7/1/1862 Hogansville, Georgia. of typhoid fever.           Butler.  Daniel Butler married B. A. Jackson 8/25/1825.

7/31/1835-2/28/1839; Daniel 5/30/1838-11/22/1891 married 5/29/1857 Marcina Whitley (5/29/1838-12/26/1921), dau. of Allen Whitley who died 1890 in Blount Co., Alabama Daniel and Marcena bur. New Hope Cemetery, Springville, Alabama According to the pension papers of Marcina Whitley Butler she was b. Roswell, Cobb Co., Georgia where she married Daniel Butler, and they moved to Alabama abt 1860. Daniel Butler served with 56th Ga. Regt., Vo. F, and was wounded and captured at Vicksburg 7/4/1863. Daniel and Marcina had son: John Allen Butler b. 8/14/1866 Blount Co., Alabama, died 12/20/1942 in Blount Co., Alabama, married 12/7/1890.[2]

 

          Cleveland. Rev. John Cleveland, the son of John, d. Cleveland's Ferry, Tugaloo River, South Carolina ca 1821, at ca age 91, married Mary or Mollie McCann (she died Cleveland Ferry before 1809). lie was Baptist Clergyman, went ca 1772, 1785, from Virginia and North Carolina with his brother, Larkin. Family moved to Pickens District, South Carolina, among first settlers.           John Cleveland, son of John (above), was born ca 1760, died Mobile, Alabama 1845/50 married Miss Comfort Gilbert (b. 1770/1775, d. Mobile, Alabama 1845/50), dau. of Rev. Thomas Gilbert. John Cleveland lived in Franklin Co., Ga. and his children were born on the Tugalo River, i. e.: Reuben b. 9/2/./1784; Gilbert d.           Crenshaw  Cornelius Crenshaw was born ca 1782 Laurens Co., South Carolina, died in Caldwell County, Kentucky.  He married

Melinda, born in North Carolina, died ca 1855 Sabine, Texas Son: Isaac H. b. 2/12/1824 Alabama, died. 7/7/1884 Panola Co.,

married 10/23/1845 Dorcas Irene Golden b. Blount Co., Alabama, died ca Panola Co., Texas, daughter of Richard Golden and Mary Higgins Lincoln Co., Ga. They had: Mattie Elizabeth Crenshaw born in Panola Co., Texas d. 10/28/1895 Pano1a Co., Texas, buried Mt. Zion Cemetery married 11/14/1868 George Carter Tiller, born in Harrison Co., Texas, d. 2/19/1930 Panola Co., Texas. Their son: Ray DeWitt Tiller, Sr. born 11/14/1890 Paris Texas, d. 7/12/1937 Carthage, Texas, buried Mt. Zion Cemetery 7/12/1937 Mary Viva Phillips, b. 12/29/1893 Carthage, Texas.           McCorquodale.  David McCorquodale was born 1803 Sampson Co., N. C. died 7/7/1865 Fields, Louisiana., buried Smith's Cemetery, 7 miles North of Starks, Louisiana. He married Lydia Chambless, born  7/3/1811, died 9/6/1884 Bryan, Texas, buried Steep Hollow Cemetery. Issue: Sarah Jane born 7/6/1830 Early Co., Georgia.           McMinn. Robert McMinn was born ca 1770 in Buncombe County, North Carolina and had two known sons, viz: Jesse (born 1795) and Absalom (born ca 1804).

 

          Absalom McMinn married Ruth (born 1806 in South Carolina). They apparently removed to Marshall County, Alabama where Ruth died after 1900.  The family were residents of Cobb County, Georgia in 1850.  Issue:[6] Mary Ann, born 1834 Cherokee County; Robert W., born 1834 Cherokee County; W. C., born 1838 Cherokee County; Louisa, born 1842 Cherokee County; Absalom, born 2/1845 Cherokee County (married 10/6/1872 in Marshall County, Alabama to Martha Jane Hunkapiller, born 1854.

         

          Absalom McMinn, son of Absalom had children: W. Monroe, born 1874 in Marshall County, Alabama; James R., born 1876 in Marshall County, Alabama; Green L., born 1880 in Marshall County, Alabama; Thomas L., born 9/1885 in Marshall County, Alabama; Tempie J., born 11/1883 in Marshall County, Alabama.

 

          Joseph Henry McMinn was born 27 July 1847 in Cherokee County, died 25 September 1900 in Bullard, Smith County, Texas.  He was married on 2 August 1873 in Marshall County, Alabama to Levina Elizabeth Neeley, a daughter of Absalom Neeley.  Levinia was born 4 September 1850 in Marshall County, Alabama, died 26 July 1936 in Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto, Texas, buried in the Sturdivant Cemetery in Palo Pinto.  Issue:

 

          Roland Oscar McMinn, born 2 March 1884 in Bullard, Smith County, Texas, died 22 February 1943 in Mineral Wells, Palo Alto, Texas, buried in the Sturdivant Cemetery and Absalom Merideth (“Abb”) McMinn, born 6 April 1886 in Bullard, Smith County, Texas, died 26 January in Mineral Wells, Palo Alto, Texas, buried in the Sturdivant Cemetery.  He was married to Laura Belle Davis on 16 January 1910 in Whitt, Parker County, Texas. Laura was born on 12 March 1883 in Whitt, Texas and died 26 December 1987 in Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto, Texas, buried in the Sturdivant Cemetery.  Known issue: Dumas Russell McMinn, born 23 December 1910 Palo Pinto, Texas, died 2 October 1970 in Pasadena, Harris County, Texas, buried in the Sturdivant Cemetery and Edith Lucille McMinn, born 9 October 1917 in Kirkland, Childress County, Texas, died 14 May 1994 in Mineral Wells, Texas, buried in Holders Chapel Cemetery, Parker County, Texas.

 

          New.  William New was born ca 1788 in North Carolina, died before 11/18/1874.  He married Mary Wells (born 8/29/1787  in Duplin County, North Carolina), the daughter of Jacob Wells II and Ann Boney Wells.  Children:  George Gilbert New (born 10/8/1809 North Carolina, died 10/19/1879 in Boliad County, Texas, married 9/23/1834 in Sumter County, Alabama, Tabitha Newton); Kinnion Wells New (born 1/6/1811 North Carolina, died 9/28/1867 in Caldwell County, Texas, married Sarah Ann Barnett); Katherine New (married 11/22/1834 in Sumter County, Alabama, John McKenzie); Nicholas Finel New (born 4/21/1812 in North Carolina married 2/1/1835 in Sumter County, Alabama Mary Ann Moore); James Boney New (born 4/14/1814 in North Carolina married 1/4/1841 in Sumter County, Alabama, Mary Azzora Newton); Ann Elizabeth Newton (married 12/25/1844 in Lauderdale County, Mississippi, James J.           George Gilbert New, son of William New and Mary (Wells) New, was born 10/8/1809 in Duplin County, North Carolina, died 10/19/1879 in Goliad County, Texas.  He married on 9/23/1834 Tabitha Newton (born 1/8/1814, died 12/30/1875 in Goliad County, Texas). Children: Joel Wells New, born 1/21/1847 Sumter County, Alabama, died 6/17/1895 in Live Oak County, Texas, married 11/28/1872 Minerva Jane Clark (born 12/7/1852 Mississippi, died 1/19/1892 Live Oak County, Texas). Joel had: Ada Pettus New, born 12/15/1887 in Live Oak County, Texas, died 5/17/1968 in Kingsville, Kleberg County, Texas, married Robert Hodges Word.[8]

 

          Peavy.  Abraham Peavy, Revolutionary War Soldier, was born 5/3/1765 in Orange County, North Carolina, died 8/15/1837 in Butler County, Alabama.  He received a pension for his serving in North Carolina and his wife, Lydia, received benefits.[9] 

         

“Read second time: A Bill for the Relief of Abram

          Peavy, deceased, of Troup County, of forfeiture incurred

          on Penal Bond for the appearance of Hiram P. Peavy,

          charged with the offense of gaming.” [10]

 

          He was listed on          the 1830 Troup County, Georgia Census before going to Alabama.  Children: Nancy; Vicey; Eli (married Mary Youngblood 1/19/1815 in Hancock County, Georgia); Daniel; Heloy; McHail; Hiram; and Thomas.[11]

 

          Walton.  George Walton, son of Lord Walton of England, died in Brunswick County, Virginia in 1766, St. Andrews Parish.[12]  George Walton purportedly came to Brunswick County from King William County and had lands in Brunswick as early as 1726.[13]  George Walton was appointed King’s Justice Gentleman at the first Court held in Brunswick County on 5/11/1732; he was High Sheriff on 11/7/1734; took the oath of Judge of Chancery Court on 6/5/1746; and was Captain in the Virginia Colonial Militia on 8/1748.   George Walton was married to Elizabeth Rowe, born 2/15/1685 in Middlesex County, Virginia.[14] Children: John; Mary; Catherine; Elizabeth; and Isaac Rowe Walton.

 

          John Walton, son of George, was born ca 1706/7, died before 1/21/1796 in Meherin Parish, Brunswick County, Virginia, married Rebecca.  He patented land at the age of 21 on 9/27/1728. John died 1796.[15]       

 

          Isaac Rowe Walton, son of George was born 10/22/1770 in Meherin Parish, Brunswick County, married Elizabeth, daughter of Henry and Edith Williamson Ledbetter (born 1801 Greensville County, Virginia).  Isaac died 1770.[16] She married 2nd, James Rawlings in Greensville County.[17]  Elizabeth Walton Rawlings died 1802.[18]

 

          David Walton, son of Isaac Rowe Walton, was born 4/3/1760 in Brunswick County, Virginia and died 5/9/1848 near Huntsville, Madison County, Alabama, buried in Limestone County.  He married on 2/28/1788 Rebecca, daughter of Captain Henry Wyche of Greenville County, Virginia. Children: Edmond; Garrett (listed on 1830 Limestone County, Alabama Census); and Robert (died 1835 in Madison County, Alabama).[19]

 

          Edmond Walton, son of David (above), was born in 1790, listed on the 1830 Limestone County, Alabama Census, died 10/30/1854 in Limestone County.  On August 19, 1905 John H. Hunsley came before the Court to acquire Edmond’s estate for the only remaining child, Mary Walton, unmarried.

 

          Peter Wyche Walton, son of Edmond (above), was born ca 1819 in Greenville County, Virginia, married Frances Coleman Baker on 1/21/1850, and was listed on the 1840 Autauga County, Alabama Census.  They had a son, Peter Wyche Walton, born in Grimes County, Texas, died 1912 in Huntsville, Texas, married Katherine Edgar.
