Francis Tennille, Jr.

Francis Tennille, Jr., the son of Francis Tennille, Sr. a French Huguenots from Picardy, France who migrated to American during the early 1700s. He served in the Revolutionary War as a First Lt., 2d Continental, Georgia Bn. He was a Surveyor, Mason, and belonged to the Society of the Cincinnati, and a Judge of the Inferior Court of Washington County, Georgia.

Southern Centinel and Universal Gazette dated February 9, 1797: " Died Washington County, Wednesday, the first, Mrs. Winifred Tennille, consort of Colonel Francis Tennille."
