Hugh McDonald

Hugh McDonald served on the Georgia Line during the Revolutionary Army, first joining at the age of 16 years as a drummer boy. He was included in the Battle of Moore's Mill Bridge in Moore County when the Americans won the battle. February 27, 1776. Interested by-standers looked on, but did not enlist.
After the war, Hugh won land in Elbert County, Georgia for his service in the Revolutionary War.
