Benjamin Jackson
Benjamin Jackson, Revolutionary War Soldier, was born ca 1740 in Brunswick County, Virginia , and died 1793 in Hancock County, Georgia. His widow, Elizabeth, was a Quaker and died October 28, 1782 at Wrightsboro, Georgia (recorded in the Monthly Meeting). Benjamin Jackson first appeared at the Cane Creek Meeting of Quakers in Orange County, North Carolina on October 2, 1762. When the Revolutionary War came, he served in the North Carolina Troops.According to the book, North Carolina Revolutionary Accounts, Vol. 5, page 211: Claims allowed and passed by Board of Auditors for District of Wilmington July 6, 1786. Certificate #1135, page 535.
He married his second wife, Martha from Virginia. Apparently, Benjamin Jackson died before the 1827 Georgia Land Lottery, the widow drew land in Hancock County.
