Samuel Harris was born in VIrginia and died in Greene County, Georgia in 1789. He was a Revolutionary War Soldier. Wife, Martha. " November 13, 1773. Wrightsboro, Wilkes County, Georgia. Samuel Harris, having wife and two sons, one daughter 2 to 17, prays for 100 acres between the forks upward of Ogeechee including a spring and pine marked. W. H."Samuel Harris was aso lisged on the 1792-1794 Wilkes County, Georgia Tax Digest, 4 polls, 6 slaves, 410 acres onthe Ogeechee River in Wilkes County.
Another account from the book, We Have this Heritage by Sarah Hillhouse, page 97, is that Samuel was a son of Robert and Dorothy Wylie, and was born in Ireland near Raphoe County Donegal.
