Thomas Gordon

Thomas Gordon, Revolutionary War Soldier, was born in Spotsylvania County, Virginia on December 12, 1758, and died 1826 in Gwinnett County, Georgia. He married Mary Buffington, born Chester County, Pennsylvania in 1760, died 1837 in Georgia, the daughter of Joseph Buffington. Thomas Gordon was a son of John Gordon (2/7/1734-1766) and wife, Sarah.

During the Revolutionary War, Thomas lived in Gordonsville, Virginia. He enlisted in the war as a private of the 6th Virginia Regiment. After the war, he was given land in Lee County, Georgia in the 10th district for his service during the war, land in Augusta; 862-1/2 acres in Franklin County, Georgia; a Richmond County, Georgia deed to Thomas Gordon of Virginia, deed a lot in Augusta, Georgia; Thomas Connill deed land to Thomas Gordon on January 25, 1788. Also, Richard Call of Augusta and Thomas Connill, Merchants in Common, deed land to Thomas Gordon of Petersburg, Virginia.
