Duncan Carmichael

Duncan Carmichael was born in 1755, died July 3, 1834 in Stokes County, North Carolina. His pension application #S41467 stated that he was 67 years old on May 11, 1822 and was drafted in Caswell County, North Carolina in the Company of Capt. Tillman, Regt of Colonel Dixon, and that he served as a soldier during the Revolutionary War in 1780 and 1781. After the war, he lived in Stokes County, North Carolina. On June 12, 1778 he received a land grant for 160 acres of land on Shaws Mill Creek in Caswell County.

The Court Minutes of Stoke County, North Carolina, 1832-1836, Tuesday, December 9, 1834: " Wherein the Court makes findings that Revolutionary pensioner, Duncan Carmichael, died July 3, 1834, determines that his heirs at law are, and names special guardian for them: Richard, Lemuel, Mary, William, John, Sarah, Mina and Solomon Carmichael."
