"Died of consumption on April 19th, at the home of General David Blackshear in Laurens County, Georgia, Peter Callaway, a Revolutonary Soldier in his 77th year. He was honest, generous and charitable, as a soldier, brave and merciful, as a husband and father was exemplary, kind, benevolent. He had been a member of the Methodist Church for thirty years."
