Jacob Anderson

" Jacob Anderson resided in Frederick County, Virginia before moving to the Neck Creek area of Pulaski County, Virginia. He served in the Revolutionary War and first volunteered under Capt. Charles Thurston, and marched to Trenton and other New Jersey areas in 1777. He next served under Capt. Helms and was attached to General Porter's Brigade near Philadelphia where he was discharged. In the fall of 1778, he enlisted for one year and was sent to guard prisoners in Frederick County under Colonel Smith. He later joined a troop of horse in Baltimore and marched from there to Philadelphia where he was again discharged."

He was drafted again in 1781 for 18 months, but hired a substitute. John Anderson died on February 21, 1742 and left a LWT in Pulaski County Virginia probated on April 7, 1842.
