Anderson Families of South Carolina
"John Anderson, William Anderson, James Anderson, and Thomas Anderson filed Revolutionary War claims in Camden District, later Chester County, South Carolina. James and Thomas appeared to be brothers. James, Sr. and his sons, John, James, William, and probably Quinton, removed from the Chester area to Greenville acquiring lands on Horse Creek, while William had lands in Rabun and Lick Creeks."Thus, the above bears out that Thomas, James, John and William removed from Surry County, Virginia to Camden District, South Carolina, and ultimately to Greenville County, South Carolina.
John, a great-grandson of James Anderson, was the son of James, and made his LWT in Greenville County, South Carolina dated May 7, 1837, naming children: William, Thomas, Ewin, John, George W., Robert, Mary Jane, and David Q. Anderson.
